Japanese Airport named After Samurai

Kochi airport named after Ryoma Sakamoto, a 19th century Samurai responsible for many events during the "Kenshin" time line.

While it is common tradition internationally to name airports after important historical figures such as JFK and Charles de Gaule, Japan has never practiced the tradition... until now.

On November 15th the Kochi was renamed Kochi Ryoma Airport, after Ryoma Sakamoto, a 19th century Samurai. Although buried in Kyota, Ryoma was born near Kochi. Ryoma was famous for many things and his exploits have been celebrated in films, books and manga. A ronin samurai that carried a pistol as well as the traditional swords of a samurai, Ryoma is most celebrated for the profound influence he had on ending the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate. It was Ryoma that arranged for an alliance between the Satsuma clan and the rebel Choshu clan. This alliance between the former rival clans, along with the Tosa clan made up the majority of the power of the Ishin movement.

Ryoma Sakamoto was assasinated in 1867.

The First: Seijuro Hiko the Master of Swordsman.

Seijuro Hiko was the first magnificent character I found in anime world. He was seen in Rurouni Kenshin or known as Samurai-X, as Kenshin Himura's teacher. He was the 13th successor of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu art of swordship style. His real name was Kakunoshin Niitsu. The Seijuro Hiko name had passed to him as the successor of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. The first Seijuro Hiko was the first man who mastered the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. Every apprentice who succeeded the mastery will bear that name. In order to succeed, one must kill the former master because there's only one people at a time who can master the style.

Seijuro Hiko was the one who taught Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu style to Kenshin Himura.
The powerful technique that made Kenshin became the most fearful hitokiri battousai (assassin swordsman) before Meiji Era started. He was an orphan when Hiko found him. Hiko took him as his son and his apprentice. Kenshin was called Shinta at first. Hiko had changed his name to Kenshin, which means the Heart of Sword. In episode 41, in order to beat Shishio, Kenshin had to finished the Hitten Mitsurugi technique he abandoned years ago. So he went to Hiko's place to beg him to complete his teaching for him. During that process Kenshin had able to win Hiko so technically he became the 14th successor.

Hiko-sama is believed to be 43 years old in the story. It was the style he mastered that made him looks younger than his age. The same thing happened to Kenshin Himura, his apprentice, who had youthful look that might deceit people who did know him well. His height was more than six feet tall, weight about 87 kgs, had brown eyes and long black hair.

His daily activity was doing pottery (knowing his built, I think noone would believe he was only doing pottery). He liked drinking sake a lot without losing his mind while enjoying the 'happy hour'. He tend to avoid people's affairs as much as he can. In the story, he always make a sudden appearance as well as his quiet withdrawal from the story. He is a loner who lives in a mountain near Kyoto, it has to do with his past that made him live in seclusion.

Five Cool Guys from Five Cool Animes.

Their silence and coolness dragged people like a magnet. They don't talk much, they talk with their behaviour. They are men of action. They are heroes. They're not showing much affection to their peer, but deep inside they care for people close to them. Their friends know they can depend on them. When in trouble, they know who is the person they will fall into... Let say, Genjyo Sanzo, although he is rude, his peer can feel some kind of assurance from him instinctively. He doesn't have to show some expression, his strong personality has already brought 'comfort' to his group. Seijuro Hiko, the unbearably arrogant, whom can be seen by the way he treated Kenshin, give a prove of how he care for his apprentice a lot. He never saying it verbally but say it by his act. Kirara never knows Shimada Kanbei. But by a glance she knows she can count on him. Her intuition told her the truth about him.

The unread and unpredictable of them has a kind of charm especially for girls. A kind of attraction that can bring some people a plenty of energy to chase and follow them. Like Shiina Yuya, Benitora and the other who become Kyo's companion.
